EYFS Curriculum Framework
The EYFS framework outlines seven areas of learning and development which are crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, as well as building their capacity to learn, form relationships, and thrive. The EYFS framework identifies seven areas of learning and development, which are divided into three prime areas and four specific areas. The prime areas lay the foundation for children’s learning and are essential for their healthy development, while the specific areas build upon the prime areas and provide opportunities for children to develop their skills and knowledge in specific subjects. All areas are delivered through a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities. In each area there are Early Learning Goals (ELGS) that define the expectations for most children to reach by the end of the EYFS.
